Filing opens July 17 for three positions on The Woodlands Township board of directors

Applications to file for one of three at-large positions on The Woodlands Township board of directors in the Nov. 2 election will be accepted from July 17 to 5 p.m. Aug. 16, according to the township.

Positions 5, 6 and 7 are two-year terms currently held by Shelley Sekula-Gibbs, Ann K. Snyder and Bob Milner, respectively.

Write-in candidates may file a declaration by 5 p.m. Aug. 20.

Applications can be mailed to the township at 2801 Technology Forest Blvd., The Woodlands, TX 77381, delivered in-person during business hours, submitted via fax to 281-210-3978 or emailed to [email protected].

Applications delivered in-person can be accepted Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Filing packets can be obtained by calling 281-210-3800.

According to the township, applicants for positions on the board of directors must be 18 years old as of Nov. 2, 2021; a resident of The Woodlands Township for the past 12 months; a resident of Texas for the past 12 months; and a U.S. citizen. Disqualifying factors include mental incompetence and a conviction of a felony.

Aug. 16 is also the last day for the township to order an election.
