Conroe ISD saw changes to enrollment at many of its campuses as the COVID-19 pandemic caused reduced attendance since 2020.
A total of four CISD elementary school campuses saw lower enrollment in 2021-22 compared to 2020-21, according to the Texas Education Agency. However, none of the high schools in CISD saw a decrease in enrollment from 2020-21 to 2021-22. Fifteen of the district’s elementary schools have a higher percentage of economically disadvantaged students than the state average.
Here is a look at enrollment statistics as well as average State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness scores across CISD schools.
Elementary schools in CISD performed higher than state averages in reading and math for third and fourth grades.
Middle schools, which include fifth and sixth grades in Conroe ISD, also performed above the state averages in reading and math.
Junior high schools in CISD include seventh and eighth grades. Enrollment decreased at one CISD junior high school in 2021-22 compared to the previous year.
CISD high schools saw higher enrollment in 2021-22 compared to 2020-21, and students on average performed higher than the state average in all subjects.
