The Lone Star College System saw its largest number of degrees and certificates distributed during awards ceremonies held May 12-14.
According to a news release from LSCS, 9,476 students received degrees and certificates during the spring commencement. Among those awarded were 103 baccalaureate degrees in the bachelor of applied technology in cybersecurity program and the bachelor of applied science in energy, manufacturing and trades management program, which were the first for LSCS. It also included the second year of bachelor of science in nursing degrees.
"Graduation is a very special time for our students, faculty and administration,” LSCS Chancellor Stephen Head said in the release. “It’s a celebration of what they achieved, and they should be very proud of this accomplishment.”
The degrees and certificates awarded indicate a 2% increase compared to the spring commencement in 2021.
