The Lone Star College System board of trustees reviewed two single-member district maps during a Feb. 9 special redistricting meeting.

According to the college, the redistricted maps are expected to be available on LSCS’s redistricting website. Starting Feb. 16, the college will begin to host community forums for feedback on the proposed maps. Information on community forums can be also found on the LSCS’s redistricting website.

The redistricted maps will be amended and reviewed following the feedback in March and April, respectively, before being selected in May. There will be a public meeting June 8 before they are formally adopted June 30.

The board is required to redistrict and complete the process 90 days before its November election. The LSCS must redistrict every 10 years as new national census data is released to reflect population changes within its elected districts.
