With 43 teachers and an enrollment of approximately 784 students in pre-K through fourth grade, Conroe ISD’s newest campus, Lucille J. Bradley Elementary School, began its inaugural school year, Aug. 16.

Bradley Elementary was named for the late Lucille J. Bradley, a longtime Conroe resident and CISD educator who touched the lives of many during her lengthy teaching career.

The two-story elementary school offers classes in language arts, social studies, math and science and features a variety of flexible seating options. Bradley Elementary teachers work diligently to integrate technology into daily instruction as each Pre-K, through first grade classroom has 10 iPads, while each second through fourth grade classroom has 10 Chromebooks.

“All of the classes have technology at their fingertips,” Principal Christine Butler said. “The kids come already knowing how to use a lot of this technology so we really try to incorporate it naturally into our instruction and our teachers have really embraced it.”

The school also has a gym, library, two art rooms, a music room and a science lab. Butler said the school is working to add hopscotch, four square, basketball hoops and soccer goals to its playground equipment.

CISD will host a dedication for Bradley Elementary School Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. to with a program celebrating the new school and honoring the legacy of Bradley.
