During Conroe ISD's board meeting Tuesday, several students and employees were recognized for various achievements, and finalized mascots and school colors were announced for the district's newest schools along the Grand Parkway in Spring. 1. Official mascots and colors announced Bradley Elementary School students will be known as the bears with royal blue and gray colors. York Junior High School—a school being rezoned to the new high school—and Grand Oaks High School will both have grizzlies as a mascot and royal blue and orange as school colors. Bradley Elementary School is on schedule to open in August, and Grand Oaks High School is on track to open in August 2018. 2. Special district recognitions District officials recognized The Woodlands College Park Marine Corps JROTC programs for being named champions in the Marine Corps JROTC national competition. Several students from high schools throughout he district were also recognized as Students Together Achieving Results program graduates. Exemplary district employees in the child nutrition and transportation departments were presented with Ambassador Awards. 3. Moorhead Junior High School principal named CISD's school safety coordinator Robert Garcia will take over as principal at Moorhead Junior High School. Garcia is replacing current Moorhead principal Jeff Stichler, who was named Caney Creek High School principal during CISD's April board meeting.
