Texas Torque robotics teamTexas Torque—a student-led robotics team of Conroe ISD high school students—will compete in the For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology World Championships April 19-22 at Minute Maid Park, the George R. Brown Convention Center and Discovery Green in Houston.

The team won at the FIRST Lone Star Central Regional competition in Houston on March 18, in turn advancing to the championship round.

Students competing were tasked with building a steam-powered robot capable of completing various tasks. Texas Torque’s robot scored the most point by gathering and shooting balls, scoring gears and climbing a rope.
