Malcolm Williams said he opened Pirate’s Paradise Grub ‘N’ Grog in March 2024 to honor his son's life after his son, Bradley, passed away in a fire at a family vacation property in Galveston. Malcolm Williams preserved his son's ashes as part of the design in the material the bar is made out of, and mementos such as jewelry donated from friends and charitable organizations also memorialize Bradley Williams.
“I lost him at sea, and he came back to me in treasure, so everything here is a treasure," Williams said.

A family affair
From Sawdust Road, people can spot the pirate theme of the eatery because of the exterior decorations.
“I knew that by captivating a child's imagination, the mother would follow and the dad has no other choice,” Williams said.

Among the pirate-themed walls with parrots and treasures, there is something for the whole family to enjoy, Williams said. The eatery offers a family-friendly dining area and bar separated by a wall for adults to enjoy after hours.
At Pirate’s Paradise, customers can also enjoy live entertainment on the weekends, salsa nights and karaoke on Friday nights.
On the menu
Pirate’s Paradise specializes in American cuisine with breakfast served all day and seafood made daily with ingredients handpicked from local farmers markets.
A signature menu item recommended by Williams includes the Monte Cristo made with sliced ham, turkey, American cheese, Swiss cheese, battered and served with raspberry jam.
