Willie’s Grill & Icehouse will be closed for two weeks beginning Aug. 14 for remodeling at The Woodlands flagship location at 16846 I-45 S., Conroe, according to a news release from the company.

What you need to know

The location will be the 11th the brand has remodeled in the past two years, according to the news release. Both the interior and exterior of the restaurant will be updated, at three times the cost of a traditional Willie's remodel, according to the company. It will include the first full bar separate from the restaurant dining space for the brand as well as temperature-controlled outdoor seating and updates to the kitchen, restrooms and new furniture.

A closer look

The chain is known for items such as its customizable burgers, chicken-fried steak and crawfish. The full bar will include cocktails, such as the Spicy Willie Rita, and it will bring the maximum occupancy of the location to 378, up from 306. According to the news release, team members at the location will have a one-week paid vacation during the first portion of the project and will take part in paid training at another nearby location on the second week.
