According to a press release, Johri will be delivering food from local restaurants to medical teams through April 30.
"Thirty days of giving is a way to demonstrate our community’s appreciation for the nurses, doctors and other health care workers who are literally putting their lives on the line to keep us safe and healthy," Johri said in the release. "It’s also a way to show our appreciation for those small businesses and restaurants that need our support now more than ever. "It lets them know that we are thinking of them and the daily sacrifices they are making.”
So far, the campaign has delivered pizzas from Hummingbird Tea Room for nurses at Memorial Hermann of The Woodlands, lunch from Papa Amadeus to the emergency preparedness team at HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest and breakfast from Taco Cabana for floor nurses at CHI St. Luke's Health.
Businesses looking to sponsor a meal for a team of health care workers can reach out to Johri by phone or text at 832-277-3577, and individuals can recommend restaurants through Project Compassion's Facebook page.
