Montgomery County will host a Coffee with the Rayford Road Project Team event May 22 to allow the public to learn more about the thoroughfare widening and improvement project.
The transportation project, which began April 28, is a $60 million Montgomery County Precinct 3 road bond project slated to be complete by summer 2019.
“This is an informal gathering with no presentation where we will have information on the background of the project, construction activities and traffic control,” said Jacquelyn Wilson, spokesperson for the project’s public relations firm, CD&P. “The public is welcome to come and go at their convenience.”
The project involves widening Rayford Road from four to six lanes between Lazy Lane and the Grand Parkway in the Spring area. In addition, a six-lane bridge will be constructed over the Union Pacific Corp. railroad tracks, new traffic signals will be installed and a raised median will be added to enhance the safety of left-turning motorists.
The informational event will take place at the Montgomery County maintenance facility, located at 655 Rayford Road, Spring, from 9:30-11:30 a.m.
