With all 67 precincts reporting, Montgomery County Precinct 2 Commissioner Charlie Riley has won this year's primary runoff election. Riley received 55.95 percent of the vote, or 4,960 votes against challenger Greg Parker, who received 44.05 percent of the vote, or 3,905 votes. Riley could not be immediately reached for comment on election night, however his Facebook campaign page relayed the win to followers.
Riley was first elected in to the position in 2014 and will face Democratic candidate Ron Keichline in the November midterm elections. Voting totals from this year's runoff reached over 8,800, a drop from the 10,636 residents who voted in the 2014 runoff elections in Precinct 2. All results are unofficial until canvassed.
