During tonight's meeting of The Woodlands Township board of directors, township staff announced a short list of consulting firms to deliver presentations on a potential study on incorporation in The Woodlands.

Consulting firms on the short list include:

• BerryDunn: A New England-based firm specializing in taxes and assurance.


• Matrix Consulting


• The Novak Consulting Group: A Cincinnati-based firm specializing in strategic planning, community engagement and financial planning.


• Houston Advance Research Center: Also know as Harc, The Woodlands-based group is a nonprofit research organization dedicated to sustainability.

Candidates on the short list will be interviewed by the township board during its next planning meeting on Jan. 18 at 4 p.m.
