Update: Nov. 7 at 9:21 p.m. With all 57 precincts in Montgomery County reporting, township board of directors Position 7 candidate Carol Stromatt has defeated incumbent Laura Fillaut with 54 percent of the vote in Montgomery County, or 2,399 votes. Fillaut earned 46 percent of the vote, or 2,083 votes. Harris County has not yet released Election Day totals for precincts in The Woodlands Township. Original post: Nov. 7 at 7:15 p.m. Early voting totals released from Harris and Montgomery counties show The Woodlands Township board of directors Position 7 candidate Carol Stromatt has taken an early lead with 75 percent of the vote, or 75 votes in Harris County, and 59 percent of the vote, or 1,045 votes in Montgomery County. Incumbent Laura Fillaut received 24 percent of the early votes, or 44 votes in Harris County, and 41 percent of the vote, or 718 votes in Montgomery County. Fillaut, a six-year resident of The Woodlands, has served on the township board since 2015. She works as the director of operations of Fireteam Apparel Company, and she said her top priorities include transit planning, water mitigation and the township's incorporation study. Stromatt is a 20-year resident of The Woodlands and has worked as a commercial real estate broker and consultant. She has said her top priorities include resident education, incorporation study and planning. Township directors Ann Snyder and John McMullan are also on the ballot, but are running unopposed and are expected to retain their positions for another two-year term. All results are unofficial until canvassed.
