Waste management services—including trash, recycling and green waste—will return back to a normal schedule next week, according to The Woodlands Township.

The Woodlands Township announced Aug. 31 service days are pushed forward two days this week, with Thursday service areas being serviced Saturday, Sept. 2 and Friday service areas being serviced on Sunday, Sept. 3.

Labor Day will not interrupt or delay services and Waste Management will provide curbside pickup of trash, recycling and yard trimming to all residents on their regularly scheduled service day.

The Woodlands Recycling Center will resume normal hours starting Wednesday, Sept. 6. While storm debris is not accepted at the center, tree branches up to 12 inches in diameter are accepted.

For storm debris pickup, The Woodlands Township has given out certain guidelines for residents to follow, which includes debris being separated and placed on the right-of-way for trucks to pick it up. Residents should separate items into six different piles:

  1. Normal household trash

  2. Vegetative debris (tree limbs, shrubs)

  3. Construction/demolition debris (sheetrock, carpet, wood)

  4. White goods (refrigerators, water heaters)

  5. E-waste (electronics)

  6. Household hazardous waste (paint, oil)

Residents who have debris can register on www.mctxoem.org to be put on the list for debris pickup.
