One race for The Woodlands Township board of directors is now contested.

Indian Springs resident Carol Stromatt announced her candidacy this morning via a statement. Stromatt is running for board position 7, held by incumbent Laura Fillault.

“If elected, I will be the only current board member to have direct experience in commercial real estate—an asset, given the intricacies of responding to resident needs and steering Township interactions with the development company and local entities like MUDs and tax assessors," Stromatt said. "I understand where to push and when to pull.”

Stromatt serves as a board member on the Indian Springs Village Association board and has served as Treasurer of General Development Corporation since 2001.

Positions 5 and 6 are still uncontested.
