The Voter Awareness Council will host a Shenandoah Candidate Forum from 6:30-8 p.m. April 19 in the Shenandoah City Council Chambers. A forum was originally scheduled for April 13, but the event was canceled because candidates could not reach an agreement on the format of the forum. With the exception of Position 2 candidate Jason Camara, all other candidates—Ted Flecher and John Houston for Position 2, Byron Bevers and Nancy Smith for Position 3 and Charlie Bradt and Jean Teague for Position 4—have agreed to participate April 19. The questions will be created by Community Impact Newspaper, and each candidate will be asked to answer the same question with a two-minute response. Audience members will also have the opportunity to ask candidates questions during the forum, and each candidate will have an optional one-minute comment or rebuttal period. The forum will be moderated by Community Impact Newspaper's The Woodlands Editor Marie Leonard, and time will be kept by Voter Awareness Council member Jim Pollard.
