The Woodlands Township board of directors meets at 6 p.m. Wednesday at 2801 Technology Forest Blvd. Here are five things on the agenda that will be considered by the board during the meeting.

1. The board is expected to schedule a special planning meeting in January for the purpose of discussing incorporation-related matters. Although there is no timeline for incorporation, the board has taken steps to begin the planning process for becoming a city, including setting aside $2.5 million in a reserve.

2. The board will consider appointing directors to various advisory councils, boards and committees since three new directors were sworn into office Nov. 30. Directors are needed for the Drainage Task Force, The Woodlands Convention & Visitors Bureau board and The Woodlands Road Utility District No. 1, as well as the ad hoc economic development committee and the law enforcement and parks and recreation advisory councils.

3. During last week's board of directors meeting, staff was directed to draft a resolution letter supporting resident concerns regarding a new townhome development in East Shore. Residents had concerns regarding construction trucks using an entrance on Lake Front Circle, speeding and keeping the construction site and residents’ homes clean. A draft letter will be provided to the board during Wednesday's meeting.

4. In September, township Director John McMullan proposed developing a list of basic questions regarding incorporation to be added to the township's website. The item was tabled several times over the course of this fall, including after last week's meeting, to allow for more review time by the board members and legal counsel. The item is back on Wednesday night's agenda for possible approval.

5. Many longtime residents of The Woodlands are most likely familiar with the displays housed at the now shuttered Homefinder Center on Woodlands Parkway. The Woodlands Development Company has proposed donating the model and picture displays from the center to the township, but there is a cost—approximately $200,000—to dismantle and relocate the items in a new display. The township board will consider what action to take regarding this proposal Wednesday.
