Construction on the Kuykendahl Road bridge over Spring Creek is scheduled to begin during the third quarter of 2016, according to Harris County Precinct 4.
The dual bridge is a $6.097 million project funded by The Woodlands Road Utility District No. 1 in a partnership between Montgomery and Harris counties. The bridge is expected to mitigate traffic congestion along Kuykendahl Road between the two counties.
“The contractor will mobilize upon completion of the award phase and construction should begin in the third quarter of 2016,” said Pamela Rocchi, director of the Harris County Precinct 4 Capital Improvement Projects division. “The contract allows 270 calendar days for the installation effort, barring any unforeseen circumstances beyond the contractor’s control, such as excessive inclement weather days.”
Project bids were received June 30 and the WRUD is in the process of awarding the project to the successful low bidder, Texas Sterling Construction Company, according to Harris County Precinct 4.
If the project stays on track, 270 calendar days would place the bridge completion date by summer 2017.
