The filing period ended Aug. 22 to run for one of four positions on The Woodlands Township board of directors.

Positions 1, 2, 3 and 4, all of which are contested, will be on the ballot for the Nov. 8 election.

Incumbent Gordy Bunch currently holds the Position 1 seat and has filed for re-election. He has served on the board since 2012 and is the CEO and founder of The Woodlands Financial Group. Bunch also serves as chairman of The Woodlands Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Bunch will face challengers Bob Leilich and Amy Lampman. Leilich is a retired transportation consultant, and Lampman is a local Realtor.

In the Position 2 race, incumbent Mike Bass has filed to run again and will face challenger Brian Boniface. Bass was first elected to the board of directors in 2012. He is a retired business consultant. Boniface is a registered nurse.

Candidates John Anthony Brown and Stuart L. Schroeder have filed for Position 3, which will be vacated by Jeff Long, who has served on the board since 2012. Brown is a facilities supervisor at Huntsman International in The Woodlands. Schroder works as a train dispatcher for Union Pacific Railroad.

Position 4 incumbent Ed Robb has served on the board of directors since 2010 and is the senior pastor at The Woodlands United Methodist Church. He did not file for re-election, and his position will be filled by either Chris Grice or Bruce Rieser. Grice is a banker, while Rieser works as a consultant.

The board of directors consists of seven members who serve two-year, staggered terms.
