Madison Feanny Benoit said she opened Lumos Aesthetics and Wellness in April to offer The Woodlands community a welcoming environment focused on providing a healthier beauty standard.

“We're about enhancing people's natural beauty and, more importantly, providing a healthier beauty standard for young girls and women today,” Feanny Benoit said. “We also want to really focus on enhancing people's natural God-given beauty.”

What's special about it

Lumos Aesthetics and Wellness focuses on providing health-conscious options when it comes to beauty services and procedures, Feanny Benoit said.

Taking its name from the word for “light” in Latin to reflect its mission to help people feel good while promoting confidence, Lumos strives to give back to the community, Feanny Benoit said.

“We want our clients' light to radiate outward into their world, because we believe ... ‘Look good, feel good’” Feanny Benoit said. “Because when people are feeling their best and they're feeling that confidence, it radiates outward into the world around them, and they're more likely to give back and to feel more compelled to do good.”

Feanny Benoit said for over 20 years her family members have been donors to World Vision, an organization with a mission to help vulnerable children overcome poverty. Lumos Aesthetics and Wellness donates some of its profits above those needed to sustain the business to World Vision, Feanny Benoit said.

In addition, Lumos donates a portion of its profits to a different local charity every quarter. In the last year, Lumos has donated to Inspiration Ranch, Child Advocates of Montgomery County and most recently, Cassidy Joined for Hope, a suicide prevention organization.

What else?

Feanny Benoit said there is a fine line when it comes to combining the wellness and beauty industries, but she believes the two go hand in hand.

Lumos Aesthetics and Wellness offers services from standard facials to LED light therapy and microneedling as well as Botox and peptide therapy.

“I think people are ready for a change. As [a] society, we are kind of gravitating back towards that natural vibe, just with a little bit of tweaks. And the way that I love to encourage that is at the start, with health and wellness at the very base, so you're healthy on the inside, and it reflects on the outside,” Feanny Benoit said.
