Life science company Bionova Scientific held a grand opening on May 29 for its newest facility addition in The Woodlands, which will focus on providing cell and gene therapy solutions.

The details

According to company officials, Bionova Scientific opened its plasmid DNA production and development facility on May 29 in an effort to provide gene and cell therapy treatments to patients in the region quicker. As previously reported by Community Impact, the geographic location in relation to cell and gene therapy companies, or CGTs, across the U.S. and in Texas played a role in the company's selection of The Woodland for the new facility.

“Bionova is driven to support our partners to bring life-saving treatments to patients. By adding pDNA to our strategic offering, we are enhancing marketplace access to critical starting material across the landscape of clinical and commercial therapeutics,” Michelle Chen, senior vice president of process development and manufacturing for plasmid DNA, said in a news release from the company.
