Mark Johnson has moved 36 times over the course of his life, and whether it was across town or across the country, moving was always a stressful task. However, Johnson said he is hoping to bring his experience in logistics to make the life-changing process a little more simple for people.

“It's one of life's most complex activities that people can engage in if you think about it,” Johnson said. “Your entire life is kind of uprooted from one area, and it's being transported to an area that you probably have never been before.”

Johnson founded ReloUS in August 2022 in an effort to provide something most movers want more of: time and organization.

“We help people prepare by planning, giving them resources and then even taking some of the more complex pieces, like the trades interaction, because you're gonna get a quote there, right," Johnson said. "Or the moving, you're gonna get a quote there. And what we do is we actually help not only source parties, but we'll run that quote process for them.”

Johnson spent the last 37 years in global logistics working in transportation, warehousing and storage as well as manufacturing and supply chain support.

“We did project management all day long every day, and that's what relocation is—a massive project management exercise. We help people get their arms around it and get it organized, find the resources, connect them to it, and help them go through the process,” Johnson said.

While they are not a moving company, ReloUS does work to connect individuals with realtors, moving companies and repair companies, and even perform research on potential move locations. Johnson stated as long as the U.S. is one of the locations being moved to or from, they can provide aid for the move.

“We're a service company. So what we're doing is providing people with project management expertise, sourcing and procurement expertise,” Johnson said. “We'll pair them up with the right realtor, but they still contract with the real firm to do their listing. We're not in the middle of that transaction.”

While the structure of ReloUS is geared toward residential moves, Johnson said he is looking to move into company relocations, and provide more efficient and hands-on relocation for businesses.

There are different tiers of service based on the size of a home, the type of relocation happening and what services are being provided. The services can range from local research of schools in an area to the best tradespeople and realtors for owners to choose from.

“What we're giving people back is time,” Johnson said. “Because moves never happen when it's vacation time; they kind of happen in the middle of life.”
