“The community's grown so much, and there's so many new places open. It was just time to give it a new face and to give it a new name and retire the old Rookie's concept,” said owner Lloyd Ace, who originally purchased Rookie’s in 2005.
By purchasing out the Sundale donut shop, which also occupied part of the building space, Ace is expanding the interior space of the bar and softening the aesthetic.
“It was kind of a rough spot back in the day, and this has got a little, a soft feel to it I think,” Ace said. “We’ve added a couple private karaoke rooms, some greenery. ... We just made it a new and modern space.”
The location is expected to hold its grand opening around Memorial Day with a soft opening sometime in May.
