After weathering a year of occupancy challenges amid the coronavirus pandemic, The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center completed a redesign of its rooms this year on the heels of a $4 million meeting space renovation in 2019.

The recent changes include redesigning two-bed guest rooms to offer king-queen combinations or king beds with pull-out sofas, according to a December news release. The rooms are designed with flexibility and technology use in mind, hotel officials said.

“We want our guests to experience forward-thinking, aesthetically pleasing spaces that help foster their inventive nature and allow them to get into their best headspace for success,” Marriott Hotels Vice President Manny Rappenecker said.

The hotel has 65,000 square feet of meeting space, which was renovated in 2019 to allow a variety of group sizes and technology.

In 2020, Marriott International has changed its meeting room operations with additional sanitation, use of conference technology and solutions for hosting meetings in socially distanced environments, according to a news release.

The hotels also began observing enhanced sanitation procedures in 2020 in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center is located at 1601 Lake Robbins Drive, The Woodlands, and includes 338 guest rooms and seven suites.
