Employees with The Woodlands- based business Superior Renovations & Construction are not only helping the community recover from Hurricane Harvey, but some are dealing with havoc themselves, owner Shayne Clardy said.
“We are living through this—as everybody should—as members of the community and also as people that are dealing with the same issues everybody else is,” Clardy said. “We just happen to have a business that has the resources to help others.”
Superior Renovations & Construction, which has been in The Woodlands for 10 years, provides full-scale general contractor remodeling services, Clardy said.
“Our specialty is we have the licenses and certifications to do the mitigation and to handle the insurance as well as do the rebuild and reconstruction of homes,” he said. “You don’t find too many people that have the highest certifications [and] the experience of drying out a house, mitigating it from the possible mold.”
One of the most important steps homeowners affected by Hurricane Harvey should take is drying out areas as quickly as possible to prevent mold growth, Clardy said.
“We have family and friends and people that are a part of our team that are affected,” he said. “We’re doing everything that we can to help them.”
Employees are actively working to help rebuild homes for clients with flood insurance, Clardy said.
In addition to providing contractor services to residents, Clardy and his team went out on boats to rescue residents in affected areas, he said.
“We’re here praying and helping and wanting the community to recover,” Clardy said. “We can help [people] understand the insurance issue and how it’s applicable to them. We’re here to help.”
