Hilda Ysusi, executive chef and owner of Hughes Landing’s latest addition, Broken Barrel, will open the new restaurant and bar Feb. 6.

Broken Barrel will feature dishes inspired by Asian, Latin and Mediterranean influences along with a bar stocked with wine, beer and a gin-centric cocktail menu.

“The Woodlands is a dynamic and growing community and the more I visited, the more I realized that I wanted to open my first place here,” Ysusi said in a statement. “We want to deliver something unique that The Woodlands could call its own. We’re excited to become a small part of such a great community at Hughes Landing and join our neighbors.”

Menu items will include paella arancini, cochinita pibil tostones and grilled hanger steak as well as sandwiches, shredded duck banh mi and a variety of cheese and charcuterie options.

Happy hour and brunch specials are slated to be announced early this spring, and a grand opening party is planned for Feb. 16.
