Located on FM 1488, the wellness center will feature therapy rooms equipped with a machine called a halogenerator, which will infuse salt into the air of the therapy room. Owner Cassandra Mays said during therapy sessions guests will sit in zero gravity recliners and breathe in the salt air while they nap, read or meditate. “This is primarily, but not exclusively, for people with respiratory or skin issues,” Mays said. “Athletes are also saying the therapy is good for opening up the airways. It’s also good to come just for general wellness, like going to the beach.” Mays said the therapy is not a cure, but is instead a maintenance that has been practiced in Europe since the early 1800s. Aside from group therapy sessions, the center will also offer yoga classes as well as meditation and breathing classes. Sessions are $45 per person for 45 minutes.   Salt Remedy 2330 FM 1488, Ste. 200 936-271-7258 www.saltremedy.net Hours: Mon. 9 a.m.-7 p.m., Tue.-Fri. 9 a.m.-6 p.m., Sat. 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
