Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home & Cemetery will participate in National Wreaths Across America Day Dec. 14, according to a news release.

What to know

The event will be held at 11 a.m. to honor the 425 local veterans laid to rest at the cemetery, according to a news release. Spring Creek Area Blue Star Mothers is coordinating the effort to get wreaths sponsored as fundraisers to further their mission of serving veterans locally and overseas.

“Montgomery County strongly supports veterans, and we are proud to host such a meaningful ceremony. Together, we ensure that every member of the military laid to rest here is honored and remembered during the holiday season,” said Melissa Wright, funeral home manager at Forest Park The Woodlands, in the news release.

The community can sponsor a wreath by visiting Wreaths Across America’s website by Nov. 30.

The cost includes:
  • One wreath: $17
  • Two wreaths: $34
  • Five wreaths: $85
