The Woodlands Arts Council has plans for arts events in The Woodlands area in 2024 that build on and expand its long-running annual events, such as the arts festival in April.

The council opened in a new location on Grogans Mill Road in October.

The details

The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival celebrates 19 years in 2024, with the event planned for April 12-14. Tickets go on sale Feb. 1. Since TWAC was founded in 2005, the arts festival has raised $1.4 million in charitable giving, according to the news release.

The event:
  • Takes place at Town Green Park
  • Features 200 fine artists from around the world
  • Provides free children's activities at ARTopoly
  • Includes an Art Dash Party on April 12

The arts council also plans its first Young Makers Market at Market Street on Sept. 7.

This event will:
  • Allow students ages 8-18 to sell their original creations
  • Support learning about entrepreneurship, marketing and creativity
  • Feature free admission

Looking ahead

The Texas Fine Craft Show will be held at The Woodlands Resort Nov. 1-3 in an indoor environment, with a VIP Preview party on Nov. 1. The juried show features handcrafted works from fiber, wood, jewelry, glass and ceramic fine artisans. Applications for artists are open as of Jan. 16.


Another upcoming deadline is The Woodlands Arts Council Student Art Scholarship, which is open to graduating high school seniors. The application closes Jan. 23.
