With 111 of 111 election day precincts reporting in Montgomery County and 206 voting centers in Harris County reporting, Republican incumbent Dan Crenshaw appears to have won the 2nd Congressional District Republican nomination. Crenshaw received 40,016 votes, or 74.98% of votes in the election as of early March 2. Jameson Ellis received 8,322 votes, Martin Etwop received 2,551 votes and Milam Langella received 2,478 votes.

Crenshaw claimed victory in a post on his Facebook page on election night.

Dan Crenshaw, the Republican incumbent for U.S. 2nd Congressional District, is maintaining a lead as polling results continue to come in from Harris and Montgomery counties.

With 107 of 111 election day precincts in Montgomery County and two of 375 precincts in Harris County reporting, Crenshaw has received 36,428, or 75.07% of the votes counted so far.


Crenshaw is followed by opponents Jameson Ellis with 7,414 votes, Martin Etwop with 2,367 votes and Milam Langella with 2,319 votes.

Dan Crenshaw, Republican incumbent serving in the U.S. 2nd Congressional District, has taken an early lead following early voting results in Harris and Montgomery Counties.

Crenshaw has received a total of 27,240 votes from the two counties following early voting results so far.


Crenshaw is followed by opponents Jameson Ellis, who has 5,007 votes; Milam Langella, who has 1,722 votes; and Martin Etwop, who has 1,571 votes.

It is unclear if voting results on Harris County's elections website represent all early votes cast. The secretary of state’s office reported Harris County would not be able to count and report all primary election votes by the March 2 deadline due to damage to physical ballot sheets.
