An additional left-turn lane will be added to Missouri City’s Knights Court this year.

The overview

At a July 15 meeting, Missouri City City Council approved a $129,248 contract with Metrocity for a project to add another left-turn lane on Knights Court onto northbound Hwy. 6 as well as replace an existing raised median.

“This project will help enhance mobility and reduce congestion, especially when Elkins High School is in session,” City Manager Angel Jones said.

The project will be funded through Fort Bend County’s $712.6 million mobility bond, which was approved by voters in November. Missouri City will front the funds for the project and will seek reimbursement from the county, Jones said.

What’s next

Project construction is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2024 and is expected to be completed within 90 days, according to agenda documents.
