Construction on the project expand Hwy. 6 in Sugar Land from six to eight lanes from Lexington Boulevard to Brooks Street is nearing completion.

The $12.1 million project will be finished June 15 after delays due to Winter Storm Uri, according to Deidrea George, a public information officer with the Texas Department of Transportation.

Funding for the construction—which began in February 2020—is provided by TxDOT, the city of Sugar Land and Fort Bend County.
