Work on median landscaping along segments of Texas Parkway and Cartwright Road has been delayed because of potential coronavirus infections among employees for a Texas Department of Transportation contractor, according to Stacie Walker, Missouri City’s director of communications.
All employees of the contractor are being tested for the virus and will not return to work before they are cleared, Walker said in an email.
Walker said Missouri City residents had contacted the city to ask about the project’s status. According to a July 6 Facebook post, Missouri City’s Public Works Department will mitigate aesthetic issues that arise from the delay.
The $1 million median enhancements are Phase 1 of Missouri City’s three-phase corridor beautification project. TxDOT is funding Phase 1, which is expected to be completed in late July or early August.
