TxDOT to close various Hwy. 59 ramps overnight, July 28-Aug. 1


Sugar Land drivers can expect overnight closures of exit ramps along Hwy. 59 over the next week, the city of Sugar Land announced.

Weather permitting, the Texas Department of Transportation will be installing new exit signage. Only one exit ramp will be closed at a time. Officials said drivers should be mindful of work crews and potential traffic delays.

Work will take place during the hours of 9 p.m. through 5 a.m. the next day, though ramps could open earlier should work be completed ahead of schedule.

The exit ramp closure schedule below is subject to change:

July 28
SH 99 southbound
Brazos turnaround – northbound

July 29
University Blvd.
First Colony/Sweetwater Blvd.

July 30
Hwy. 6
Williams Trace Blvd.

July 31
Dairy Ashford/Sugar Creek Blvd.
Kirkwood Rd.

Aug. 1
Airport Blvd.
