Updated Aug. 12, 4:05 p.m. A traffic switch will take place on southbound Dairy Ashford Road beginning Aug. 12, according to a city of Sugar Land press release. Motorists will no longer be able to turn right onto Julie Rivers Drive going southbound on Dairy Ashford, but will instead be directed to turn right on Corporate Drive to Julie Rivers Drive. The left turn onto Julie Rivers Drive from northbound Dairy Ashford remains closed. Motorists driving northbound are also directed to Corporate Drive and then to Julie Rivers Drive. Updated July 29, 3:42 p.m.: Temporary traffic signals for westbound Hwy. 90 and northbound Dairy Ashford Road will be activated on Aug. 1, according to a city of Sugar Land press release. The existing traffic signals will be relocated to accommodate future intersection and road widening. Updated July 22, 4:15 p.m.: A traffic switch will take place on northbound Dairy Ashford Road beginning July 25. The left turn onto Julie Rivers Drive will close. Motorists will be directed to Corporate Drive back to Julie Rivers Drive, according to a city of Sugar Land press release. Original post: Motorists who drive on Dairy Ashford Road in Sugar Land should prepare for a traffic switch that will take place from Stiles Lane to Julie Rivers Drive on July 22 so road crews can continue road-widening work. According to a city of Sugar Land press release, southbound traffic will be moved to the northbound lanes, resulting in two-way traffic on the northbound lanes. Work on Dairy Ashford is a continuation of a project that began in July 2018, in partnership with Fort Bend County, to improve mobility and traffic management in the Hwy. 90 corridor.
