The Texas Department of Transportation started temporary lane reductions July 15 on Hwy. 6, from Brooks Street to Lexington Boulevard, to widen the road from six to eight lanes.
Most of the work is taking place near Town Center Boulevard and Lexington, according to a city of Sugar Land press release. Lane closures take place from 9 p.m. through 5 a.m. Sundays through Thursdays. Construction work is expected to last 14 months.
City officials said future updates with lane closure locations will be provided as construction progresses along the corridor.
