Updated May 14: Weather dependent, TxDOT will be closing the northbound lanes of Hwy. 59 near the Sugar Lakes/ Williams Trace exit on May 17 at 9 p.m. through Monday, May 20 at 5 a.m. Lanes could open earlier should work be completed ahead of schedule, according to the city of Sugar Land.

Following a weather delay, Texas Department of Transportation plans to close northbound lanes of Hwy. 59 near the Sugar Lakes/Williams Trace exit on May 10 to allow repairs needed on the bridge following recent emergency repairs which were temporary, according to the city of Sugar Land.

TxDOT will close the lanes beginning at 9 p.m. through May 12 at 5 a.m. Lanes could open earlier should work be completed ahead of schedule, the city said.

During the closure, northbound traffic will exit Hwy. 59 at the Sugar Lakes/Williams Trace exit and re-enter before the intersection of Sugar Lakes/Williams Trace.

Original plans were for a closure taking place May 3 at 9 p.m. through 5 a.m. on May 6.
