1. Dairy Ashford Road widening: Construction work to widen Dairy Ashford Road in Sugar Land from Parklane Boulevard to Stiles Lane began Aug. 6, and the project will add one lane in each direction. Residents should be mindful of traffic delays as work crews move forward with construction, according to an Aug. 15 news alert from the city. Updates can be found on the city government website.

2. Independence Boulevard Segment 1/Staffordshire Road reconstruction: Court Road in Missouri City is closed from Moore to Staffordshire roads, and it is expected to remain closed until the end of 2018 as work crews continue to reconstruct a portion of Independence Boulevard from a two-lane concrete roadway into a four-lane divided street, said Cory Stottlemyer, media relations specialist for Missouri City.  Additionally, Staffordshire Road will be closed from Court Road to Independence Boulevard for 50 days, starting Aug. 20, as work to realign Independence Boulevard and Staffordshire Road at the intersecting point takes place. Crews will also reconstruct Staffordshire Road from the existing two-lane asphalt road into a two-lane concrete one.

3. Adams Street reconstruction: This project consists of reconstructing Adams Street in Missouri City and installing new sidewalks between Texas Parkway and Fifth Street, and it is 60 percent complete, Stottlemyer said. Due to weather delays, the original completion date has been pushed back one month to November.

4. Ashmont Drive reconstruction: Workers are reconstructing Ashmont Drive in Missouri City from La Quinta to Valley Bend drives, and the project is 70 percent complete, Stottlemyer said.
Timeline: January 2018-January 2019

5. Ludwig Lane reconstruction: Work is in progress to turn the existing two-lane asphalt road in Stafford to a three-lane concrete road, and with the completed installation of a water line and relocation of a gas line, a contractor is now installing the storm drainage system,  Assistant County Engineer Stacy Slawinski said.
Timeline: May 2018-May 2019

6. Sansbury Boulevard extension: The project will extend Sansbury Boulevard in Richmond from Grand Estates Drive to Williams Way Boulevard, featuring four divided concrete lanes. The contractor is in the process of mobilizing equipment to clear the right of way and install the storm drainage system, Slawinski said.
Timeline: August 2018-February 2019

7. Crabb River Road widening: The project will expand part of Crabb River Road in Richmond from Rabbs Bayou to south of George Ranch High School from a two-lane asphalt roadway to a five-lane concrete roadway. The contractor is working on installing traffic control devices, warning signs and temporary pavement to prepare commuters for the first construction phase, and workers are also coordinating with utility agencies to install a drainage system, said Bassem Talje, project manager at engineering firm RPS.

Cost: $35 million
