Fewer homes were sold in Sugar Land- and Missouri City-area ZIP codes in May compared to May 2024, with 297 homes sold versus 318 last year, according to data from real estate company Homeward.

However, more homes were sold than in April, when 238 homes were sold across five local ZIP codes, per the data.

Data shows three of five local ZIP codes saw more home sales year over year, with ZIP code 77479 seeing the largest percentage increase in sales at 18.99%.

Of the five, ZIP code 77498 was the only market that saw a year-over-year fall, decreasing 12.5% in that time. ZIP code 77489 remained consistent year over year with 30 home sales.

Additionally, the median home sales price decreased in three of five local ZIP codes year over year, according to the data. ZIP code 77479 had the highest median home sales prices among ZIP codes at $548,500.

The average number of days homes spent on the market increased in three of five ZIP codes, with ZIP code 77489 seeing a rise of 11.69%.


Homes in 77459 spent the longest on average among the ZIP codes, with 91 days on the market for the 134 homes sold, according to the data.
