Fewer homes were sold in Sugar Land- and Missouri City-area ZIP codes in September compared to last September, with 238 homes sold versus 243 last year. However, more homes were sold than last month in August, when 220 homes were sold across five local ZIP codes.
Despite the overall decline of home sales, four of five local ZIP codes saw more home sales year over year. The Sienna area, ZIP code 77459, saw a 27.9% drop in home sales year over year.The median home sales price rose in four of five local ZIP codes year over year. The largest spike was in the Sienna ZIP code as well, which saw a 13.9% increase. ZIP code 77479 in Sugar Land had the highest median home sales price among the five at $506,750.Homes in the $250,000-$449,999 price range continue to sell the most frequently, with 116 homes sold.Meanwhile, the average number of days homes spent on the market increased in all five local ZIP codes, signaling slower home sales in those ZIP codes. The highest average number of days on the market for the month was in ZIP code 77478 with 101 days, followed closely behind by ZIP code 77459 with an average of 98 days.
