Sylva Spa opened its doors at the end of July at 13440 University Blvd., Ste. 240, Sugar Land, owner Amanda Medina said in an interview with Community Impact Newspaper.
The spa offers a variety of therapies with a large focus on dry salt therapy, in which pure-grade sodium chloride is heated; ground and crushed into tiny microparticles; and then dispersed into a salt room, salt cave or salt chamber during a typical session. The therapy is designed so particles penetrate the lungs, bronchi, bronchioles and alveoli to aid respiratory concerns, while the noninhaled salt particles are absorbed by the body to combat skin conditions, according to the spa's website.
“Our mission is to make people feel better about their health,” Medina said.
Sylva Spa also offers massage and red light laser therapies with an eye on adding Tibetan cranial therapy in the future, Medina said. 281-903-7707. www.sylvaspa.com
