Specialty running retailer Texas Running Co. has received a new name.

Within the next few months, Texas Running Co., 15890 Southwest Freeway, Ste. 600, Sugar Land, will change its branding over to its new owner, Fleet Feet, which bought the retailer’s parent company, JackRabbit, in early December, according to the company’s news release.

“It’s a pretty massive transition,” said Maximo Mendoza, the store’s general manager, to Community Impact Newspaper.

Chief among the changes coming to the new Fleet Feet location will be the addition of the brand’s fit id 3D foot scanning technology, which allows the store to scan the foot arches of customers for a more accurate shoe fit, Mendoza said.

“It takes the guessing game out of what is in our heads and the customers’ expectations,” Mendoza said.

The store will also be bringing in more brands, Mendoza said.

The transition comes as Fleet Feet experienced its all-time highest sales month in August with systemwide sales up 34% year over year, according to the announcement.

Sales remained strong in the third quarter of 2021 with combined brick-and-mortar sales up 33% and digital sales up more than 32% compared to the third quarter of 2020. 281-240-2215. www.fleetfeet.com/s/sugarland
