Forest Park Southwest Cemetery will open in west Houston in late spring 2022, according to a press release from Service Corporation International, North America's largest provider of funeral, cemetery and cremation services.

Located at the proposed intersection of FM 359 and Settegast Ranch Road in Richmond, the development on more than 50 acres will serve Katy, Fulshear, Sugar Land, Missouri City and surrounding communities.

Forest Park Southwest Cemetery will offer traditional in-ground burial, above-ground entombment, cremation memorials and private family estates, according to the release. Additionally, it will feature a multipurpose event center for both traditional funerals and contemporary memorial services.

“As more people choose to make west Houston their home, we are pleased to expand our services and legacy of compassionate care to the greater Houston community,” said Michael White, SCI's Houston Market Managing Director, in the release. “We are committed to the families we serve, and to providing them with a peaceful and beautiful environment for honoring and visiting their loved ones.”
