Two-minute impact
At the joint meeting, the Sugar Land Development Corp. and Sugar Land 4B Corp. approved three five-year agreements with Rebees, a commercial real estate company, to support the effort in Sugar Land Town Square. The $12.5 million investment is funded by sales tax.
The renovations aim to make the development more attractive to businesses, residents and visitors, according to a May 21 news release.
“We’re proud to continue our partnership with the city of Sugar Land as we launch this new chapter for Town Square,” Rebees Managing Partner Tom Paterson said in the release. “These improvements are essential to keeping Town Square competitive in a changing market, while preserving the character and energy that make it a beloved destination”

- Property-wide office tenant improvements ($4.5 million)
The 32.8-acre, mixed-use district was established in 2003 and has seen 27 million visitors since 2018, per the release.
Notable quote
As the city’s first public-private partnership, Sugar Land Town Square “set the standard” for future investments, Jessica Huble, assistant director of redevelopment for Sugar Land, said in the release.
“This investment underscores our commitment to reinvest where it matters most and support partners who are just as invested in Sugar Land’s future as we are,” she said in the release. “Redevelopment isn’t just a priority—it’s vital to long-term success, and we are proud to support what’s next for Town Square.”
