In a nutshell
The Galaxy All Abilities Park will be the first all-abilities park funded and built by Fort Bend County, county officials said. Located adjacent to the county's new Sugar Land Annex, the park’s elements will feature sensory walls, interactive play equipment and tactile elements to encourage exploration. The playground will also enable children and their families to use their mobility devices, according to information from Bowman Consulting Group.
With the park being built less than half a mile from Constellation Field, the project's celestial theme will be a tribute to the Space Cowboys, the Triple A affiliate of the Houston Astros, county officials said.

The project, which is estimated to cost around $1.27 million, is funded by Fort Bend County’s 2020 and 2023 parks bonds, county officials said.
Fort Bend County Commissioners Court authorized advertising the project for bid at the Sept. 10 meeting, so a better cost estimate will be available once the bids are awarded in mid-November, officials said.
