The findings of a quarter four 2023 Missouri City community satisfaction survey shows residents ranked street maintenance and traffic flow as top priorities.

How we got here

Missouri City City Council heard a presentation March 18 on the community satisfaction survey completed by the ETC Institute. The survey featured seven pages of questions, including perceptions on community services and residents' top priorities.

The survey, garnering 401 respondents throughout the city, was the fourth survey done for the community with the most recent completed in 2020, said Jason Morado, ETC Institute vice president of community research.

“Missouri City rated above the U.S. average in 43 out of the 49 areas that we compared,” Morado said.

Breaking it down

The survey reported residents have a positive perception of the city, with 84% rating Missouri City as an excellent or good place to live, down 7% from the 2020 survey.

Fifty-seven percent of residents were satisfied with city services, which is 8% above the U.S. average.

Residents identified a number of top priorities, including:
  • Maintenance of streets, sidewalks and infrastructure
  • Traffic flow and congestion
  • Public safety services
Why it matters

City officials said the survey will help to guide City Council and staff as they prioritize goals and budgets for upcoming years.
