In her new leadership role, Huff will oversee business expansion and retention efforts for Sugar Land, according to a March 12 news release. She will also oversee the organization’s tourism strategy.
“I am honored and excited to step into this new role to lead our talented team and drive economic growth and prosperity in Sugar Land,” Huff said in the release. “I look forward to building upon our city’s strong foundation and collaborating with our community partners to create new opportunities for residents, businesses and visitors.”
Career history
Huff will continue to serve as the director of economic development for SLOEDT, she said in a phone call with Community Impact, but will also take on the executive director role as a part of the leadership team. According to the release, she has overseen multiple expansions as director, including:
- Accredo Packaging ($10 million)
- Bluebonnet Nutrition Corp. ($18 million)
- PG Golf ($2.5 million)
- Honeyland Festival, promoting Black leaders in music and culinary arts
- Banana Ball World Tour, bringing the Savannah Bananas to Constellation Field
