Two Missouri City fire stations—Stations Nos. 3 and 4—will soon see some exterior renovations.

Missouri City City Council unanimously authorized to allow Missouri City City Manager Charles “Tink” Jackson to execute a contract with Pearland-based mid-size contracting firm Construction Masters of Houston for a total of $206,400.40 in fire station renovations, according to the city’s March 7 agenda documents.

“This is the project that is funded through the capital improvements program,” said Sashi Kumar, the city’s director of public works and the city engineer. “This includes routine renovations of Fire Stations Nos. 3 and 4.”

According to city Fire Chief Mario Partida, renovations will include painting and floor repairs. The renovations will affect the bay areas, where the fire trucks are stored, as well as all of the equipment rooms, the outside brick in front of Stations Nos. 3 and 4, and where some aesthetic framing of the large front beams has decayed and rotted.

Partida said the approved renovations represent the second phase of a project to improve the two stations. Renovations on the interiors of both stations were completed last year.

The renovations will take approximately 90 days to complete, according to the agenda report. Funding comes from the city’s fiscal year 2021-22 Capital Improvement Program.
