Shared Dreams 35th Anniversary Celebration
Fort Bend ISD’s Collaborative Communities department will host an open house to tour the new Shared Dreams program facility. The program has provided short-term assistance to registered students in need, as designated by campus nurses and staff for 35 years. The open house will feature light refreshments, remarks from district leadership, and performances by Willowridge High School’s drumline and cheerleaders, as well as Willowridge and Marshal high school’s mariachi ensembles.

Texas Leaguer Brewing will host a class teaching participants how to smoke Southern-style ribs six different ways—including beef plate short ribs, beef chuck ribs, beef back ribs, St. Louis style pork ribs, pork baby back ribs and lamb ribs. The course will also show attendees how to butcher a rack of spare ribs and methods to candy, dry rub or sauce the popular barbecue meat.

Comedian, writer, actress and director Ali Wong will visit the Smart Financial Centre in November. Wong released the movie "Beef" in collaboration with entertainment company A24 in April, and is also known for Emmy-nominated comedy special "Don Wong" and shows, such as animated comedy "Tuca and Bertie." The comedy show is for attendees who are 18 or older.

Blendin Coffee Club will invite Sugar Land residents to a holistic reset with a fall festival. This event features sound healing and yoga with professionals from Halycon Holistic Healing Circle, who specialize in mental health counseling, life and wellness coaching, and teaching yoga. This Missouri City book club meets on the third Saturday of each month to discuss books featuring authors of color. In November, they’ll read and discuss Fort Bend County Library’s Community Reads selection, "The Family Izquierdo" by Ruben Degollado. The title is available on a first-come, first-served basis a month before the book club meets.

The Play Street Museum will bring The Creature Teacher to Sugar Land for a morning of slithering, crawling and creeping with unique insects and animals.
